Exclamation [Ask]How to deal with stuck tires?

Two of my car tires are difficult to remove even after all the lug nuts have come off. What should I do?

If you don't have correct tools, removing a stuck wheel can be very difficult. You may need penetrating lubricant, and definitely need jack stands, floor jack, torque wrench and lug wrench. Anti-seize, degreaser, rags and gloves are also helpful.

First, you need to loosen all the lug nuts and jack up the car with an emergency jack. Then remove all lug nuts, except one, to prevent the wheel to prevent your wheel from suddenly coming off. Then sharply kick the sidewall of the wheel. Do this until the wheel pops free and the remove the lugs.

If you're at home, removing a stuck wheel is usually easier because you can use some more tools. Loosen the lug nuts, put your car on a jack stand and the remove all the lug nuts, except one to prevent your wheel from coming off suddenly. Spray some amount of penetrating lubricant on the back of the wheel, especially on the area where it makes contact with the hub. The lubricant needs a few hours to soak the wheel. You can then kick the tire, it should come off much more easily.

You can prevent future corrosion by cleaning the hub from debris, dirt and grease with a degreaser.
